Parental control, profiles and settings: a Roku channel families can trust
Parental PIN, adult mode per profile, category locks, player options, three languages, cache tools and a support screen: the settings of SMARTERS PREMIUM - ROKU.
A Roku in the living room is shared by the whole family, so a channel has to make it easy to keep some things away from the kids and to let each person set things their way. SMARTERS PREMIUM - ROKU has a complete settings area, all usable with the remote: account, player, language, theme, time format, guide, parental control, data and cache, support and about.
A 4-digit parental PIN
The parental PIN is set in Settings › Parental control with a numeric keypad. Once it is set, the same screen offers to remove it, and the adult content mode and category locks depend on it.
Adult content per profile
Each profile has its own adult content mode:
- Hidden: adult categories never appear.
- PIN required: they appear, and the PIN is asked before opening them.
- Visible: no restrictions.
That way the parents’ profile and the kids’ profile can live on the same Roku with different rules.
Lock any category
Beyond adult content, any category can be locked one by one, separately for Live TV, Movies and Series. Locked categories ask for the PIN. One option unlocks them all at once.
Player settings
The player section turns on or off the live TV preview, the info bar when changing channels, the automatic next episode, subtitles and animations, and sets the live TV format.
Account, language and time
Account shows the profile name, the status, the expiry date, connections in use, the creation date and the time zone, with options to edit the account, switch user or log out. Language switches between Spanish, English and Portuguese and applies to the whole app instantly. The time format can be 12 or 24 hours, and the guide can be shifted if programs appear early or late.
Data, cache and support
Data and cache refreshes the content and clears the cache, the history, the playback progress or My list, or resets the channel completely. Support shows the device MAC and device ID your team will ask for, along with your contact details when you set them in the panel. About shows the app version, Roku model, Roku OS, resolution and connection.

Can customers clear their history?
Yes. Settings › Data and cache clears the history, playback progress, My list or the cache, and can reset the channel.
